Designer Charis Tsevis created these geometric, colorful interpretations for Yahoo promotions of the Olympic Games.
I really like the simple geometric forms used. They remind me of some old album covers by Kraftwerk.
One thing I note in all of these is that the energy, in the form of color, emanates from the actors in each piece.
Aside from the diverse color scheme what I like specifically is that the environment, the background, is in cool blue and the warmer, more energetic colors come from the motions of the athletes. One could produce images like these easily within Illustrator. I say easily but the hard part is conceptualizing in the first place. In a world filled with special effects, gradients, glows, drop shadows, dogs with shakas shaved into their fur, etc, these designs are refreshing.
