Week1: Moebius Freeway Interchange

I often have crazy dreams and I always write them down and draw pictures to go with them, especially if I think they can be built into something in one of my projects. In fact the whole reason I got into CGI in the first place was because of my desire to be able to recreate my dreams. What you see in this sketch is an insane freeway interchange with crazy interwoven loops. If this wasn’t nuts enough the whole glob was in the sky, as well. In the dream there were a few of these, part of some huge megalopolis. This is one of many things that is going into a franchise that I am developing. Learning how to express ideas like this, and what the imagery would mean in a production, is what one of the things I want to get out of IFDM. For example on the production side, which method might I use to build the geometry, and how long could I attach a camera to a following path without making the audience nauseated? Is the scene long or short? What is the render time? Why is my handwriting so bad? What vehicles should be travelling here? How do I make disparate dreams cohesive in terms of art direction? All of these questions will likely be addressed during my time at IFDM.
